Passion or Career : The Story of Blissful Bakery

Passion or Career?

As a student, many people prioritize their careers, often sacrificing their passions for a better future. But is it fair to choose only a career instead of balancing both? I don’t think so. Why can’t a doctor, engineer, or teacher pursue a passion alongside their profession?

I’m Anmol Humira, and I’m here to share my baking journey. I am an engineering student and a home baker.

My journey as a home baker hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced many challenges along the way. As a science student, I was expected to focus solely on becoming a doctor or an engineer. The idea of becoming a baker coming from a science background was totally unexpected for society. Despite the criticism and taunts I faced for my passion, I remained focused on both my baking and my studies.

My love for baking started in the fourth grade when I became fascinated by it. I would try recipes at home, watching shows on TV or following written recipes. I failed many times, but I never gave up on perfecting my cakes. I wasted ingredients countless times, yet I kept trying.

In sixth grade, my mom bought me my first touchscreen mobile phone, which was the happiest day of my life. I connected it to the internet and began learning baking from YouTube. However, it took a long time to master cake-making, as many YouTubers didn’t provide detailed tips.

Hard work never fails. I tried and failed repeatedly. I often requested my family to enroll me in a baking course, but no one agreed because I was a science student. They feared it would distract me from my career. My goal was always to learn baking properly and improve my skills.

Then one day, I discovered that my cousin knew how to bake. She was thrilled to know about my dedication to baking. She visited my home and taught me how to bake a cake properly. From that day on, I stopped failing at baking.

Once my family saw my dedication and the quality of my work, they realized that I could pursue something meaningful in baking. I made sure to keep up with my studies so that my baking journey wouldn’t interfere with my education. Gradually, I started receiving family support and learned to create various types of cakes, including birthday cakes, wedding cakes, customized cakes, cupcakes, and sliced cakes.

My most common cake is birthday cake which I always love to make .

After completing my 12th grade, I started my online business with confidence. My page is called Blissful Bakery. Within two months, I received many orders and gained good offers due to positive reviews. However, I also had to balance my studies I took a break. After a short break, I resumed baking and had the opportunity to make connections with various cafes.

In addition to my studies, there aren’t always opportunities to work on baking orders. Although I can’t take orders continuously due to my academics but still try with my best efforts . I take baking classes in my free time.

I bake because it makes me feel good. I believe everyone has a talent or passion. It’s not wise to give up what you love for the sake of a career. Passion or career? Why is this question even asked? Why can’t the two be balanced together? Everything is possible if one tries.

My journey of Blissful Bakery wasn’t easy, but giving up wouldn’t have been wise.

So, if you ask me about passion or career? I would say both.
