The mischievous little devil that became a part of our family. Casper the cat!

It was 10th of March 2023, when we welcomed a new member in our family. One might even call that new member a little devil. Well to me at least, this member is a pure angel. He wasn't any ordinary member of the family rather a cat and a mischievous one at that. That cat was named Casper by my mom.

Casper is a curious little fella. He inspects anything that is new with great curiosity. I remember the moment he first came to our home, he searched every nook and cranny of the house almost as if to review his new home. Whenever a new guest comes to the house he fulfills his curiosity by smelling them all over. He sure loves to smell stuff.

The little fella is an energetic goof ball. He likes to play with me in various ways. Chasing and playing tag is his favorite thing to play. I kid you not, he likes to tap your legs and wait for you to stare at him. When you do he immediately runs away. Almost like he is saying "Haha! I gotcha, didn't I? Now catch me if you can!". And I guarantee you that you would lose. He is way too good at playing tag. He is the swiftest fella I know. Not only that but also he takes these extremely tricky paths around chairs, sofa, beds etc. that it is almost impossible to catch him. The little devil also cheats in my opinion. Sometimes he hides in places that your gigantic human body can never reach.

Another funny thing that he finds amusing is playing with the end of any type of strings. Ever seen a cat in the cartoons playing with yarn? Well its almost like that. When I run with a piece of string with its end dangling near the floor, Casper always chases it as if it is its prey. I swear the little dude never gets tired of it. One other thing he likes to do for fun is biting me. Well you can probably guess that even if it is fun for him, I might not be the biggest fan of it. But well I am used to it now anyway.

There are lots of things Casper likes to do in his "Free Time". Most of it is sleeping. He sleeps wherever he wishes. Sometimes you can find him sleeping on top of the fridge, sometimes underneath the table, other times on top of a shoe rack. Rarely would you ever find him sleeping on a bed for some reason. He is an eccentric fella. But boy you should see his sleeping face. He looks like the most adorable little angel in the world.

Other than sleeping, Casper likes to hunt, enjoy the nature and eat food. He sure has the instincts of an apex predator. Whenever he sees a prey, be it a lizard, a bird or any sort of bugs, his first instinct is to immediately hunt him. And I tell ya he is a really successful hunter. His prey barely ever escapes his mighty paws! And the funny part is he doesn't even hunt to eat his prey. Rather after catching his prey he loves to play with them like they are his toy. Well I say play here but it is pretty brutal what he does to those poor preys.

But things weren't always so smooth for Casper. You see he once belonged to my sister's friend. Due to some unfortunate circumstances she could no longer keep him with her. So we decided to adopt him when he was only 7 months old. But initially it was pretty rough for him. He had troubles adopting to the new environment. We didn't realize that he was a cat in heat at that time. In order to find a mate he always wanted to go outside. One day he got so desperate that he climbed on top of the railings of our balcony. By accident he fell off the balcony. We immediately rushed to get him in a panic. Thankfully though we found that he wasn't gravely injured and was mostly okay. Ever since then we neutered him and he has been doing so much better and living in peacefully with us.

Casper is more than just a pet to us. He is a family. Adopting him is the best decision that we have ever made. He is cute, adorable and naughty (in a good way of course!). I have so many more stories tell about Casper but the word limit won't allow me to. Maybe someday if I ever get the chance I will tell you guys about the story of how he one day almost gave us a heart attack when he went out with his friends and didn't come home for and entire day or the story of how he jumped from our house to our neighbor's house alongside many more stories. Well I am done for today at least. Thanks a lot for reading this far! I wish you all a very good day.
